Continuing its recent focus on the ZX line of casual street sneakers, adidas Originals presents a refreshing new interpretation of the iconic running shoe, the ZX Zero Pack.
The ZX Zero utilizes a mesh-bootie upper that attaches to a synthetic cage overlay to optimize comfort, reflective heel details and ADIPRENE® cushioning in the sole.
Offered in three colourways with an off-white outsole and contrasting heel detail, the ZX Zero Pack gives you a lightweight sneaker that’s comfortable all around.
adidas Originals just recently announced a long-term partnership with Japanese designer NIGO, and now they’ve also announced a tie-up with Brazil´s The Farm Company.
The collection will see The Farm taking iconic styles from the adidas Originals line and adding their signature prints for a twist. From the images released, you can expect a casual, street feel with loads of colors and patterns. adidas symbols like the logo and 3-stripes will be present along with The Farm’s nature-themed art.
The collaboration will only be available for women. It will launch in Brazil on March 22, 2014 exclusively through The Farm Company stores and online, and worldwide through adidas Originals stores and online from April 1, 2014.
It’s a similar strategy to the way adidas Originals partnered up with Topshop for a limited edition collaboration for women.
adidas Originals has just announced a long-term partnership with the pioneer of streetwear, NIGO. The collaboration will launch globally in FW 2014.
adidas Originals adds to its already stellar line-up of top designers and influencers. NIGO, a Japanese DJ, record producer and creative director for one of Uniqlo’s brands, is also the creator of A Bathing Ape (or Bape) which is a popular urban clothing line. He’s extremely popular, especially in his home country where he even has his own show on MTV called Nigoldeneye.
Too bad no sneak peeks of the apparel or shoes were released yet. Can’t wait to see what this tie-up comes out with later this year!
Skateboaring x Football? That’s what happened when adidas brought together two of its popular shoe silhouettes, the Busenitz (Skateboarding) and the Copa Mundial (Football). It’s a classic look that can go either way.
In anticipation for the World Cup later this year,
adidas
continues to put a focus on football (the European kind), even if it means putting a focus on skateboarding along the way. The most recent example is the excellent new Busenitz “Copa Mundial”, which takes Dennis Busenitz‘s signature model, (which admittedly was already influenced by the Copa Mundial boot), and putting even more emphasis on the beautiful game, with a black leather upper that wouldn’t look out of place on the pitch. White accents and a white rubber outsole round out the package, which is available now at select retailers
Earlier this month, adidas Originals launched its new range of running-inspired casual shoes – the ZX Flux.
The ZX range is known around the world as retro running shoes that turned into casual street kicks. They were really popular running shoes back in the 80s, and they’re still popular now in the Originals line. With the ZX Flux, adidas made something totally new to the franchise (not just bringing back a retro silhouette), but still kept the DNA of the ZX running shoes.
What does that mean? Well, it’s better explained in this behind-the-scenes video with the designers of the ZX Flux. It’s cool to see what tools they use to design new shoes and how they get inspired by their heritage.
And here are more shots of the ZX Flux Black Elements pack that are in stores this month:
adidas Originals recently aired this video on YouTube showing Stan Smith talking about his passion for skateboarding and other legendary skateboarders talking about Stan’s awe-inspiring skills.
Unfortunately the story isn’t true. That would’ve been a cool topic to unearth. Still, it’s a fun video though that references how mythological Stan Smith (the man and the shoes) have become.
NBA Legend Dikembe Mutombo, known for his defense and finger-wagging antics, showed off his adidas Originals kicks at the All Star Weekend. He also sported a cool All Star jacket by adidas, which showed off his NBA accolades.
adidas Originals, adidas Women and TopShop have all just tweeted about the same thing – the latest partnership of adidas Originals, this time with the TopShop brand!
TopShop designers have been going through the adidas Originals archives for this exclusive collaboration. It looks like this is going to be a “TopShop’s take on adidas Originals classics”. It also looks like it’s going to be all for women, at least based on the photo releases below. Sorry guys!
adidas Originals brings back one of its most iconic silhouettes with the return of the Stan Smith sneakers.
The clean, minimalist design is perfect for when those days when you’re feeling all laid back and chill.
adidas released the following information earlier this year:
“Since its debut as a tennis shoe in the 70s, the Stan Smith has made its way from the court to the street, becoming one of adidas’ best-selling shoes of all time. Removed from the shelves in 2012, the Stan Smith returns more clean and green than ever. Made with highly sustainable and premium quality materials, the famous classic white version is reintroduced for SS14 with the three most iconic heeltab colours.
The shoes’ return is also getting a lot of hype and support from well-known celebrities, athletes and stylists. Actors like Max Greenfield from New Girl and Will Arnett from Arrested Development and 30 Rock, plus NBA Superstar Derrick Rose, are just a few of the big names in this series of Stan Smith 2014 videos:
